Becoming Mentally Bulletproof

Becoming Mentally Bulletproof

Hello, intrepid explorers of the mind! Have you ever felt like a marionette, being subtly manipulated by the media, politicians, friends, family, or the omnipresent eye of advertising? If so, you're not alone. We live in an age of information overload where external influences seek to mold our thoughts, beliefs, and ultimately, our actions.

So, how can we reclaim our thinking territory and construct an unshakeable fortress of the mind? Let’s buckle up, dive in, and learn how to navigate through this exciting challenge together.

1. Awareness: The First Step

Imagine you're a boat on the high seas, buffeted by waves of information. The first step to steadying your vessel is to recognize the waves! This means becoming aware of the influences you're subjected to daily.

Let’s have a quick experiment: Try to recall the last advertisement you saw. What was it selling? Did you feel a sudden desire for it? If yes, you just experienced a wave!

Once you're aware, you can react consciously, question the intention behind the information, and decide whether to act on it or let it pass.

2. Develop a Healthy Skepticism

Don’t swallow everything you read or hear hook, line, and sinker. Just because it's on the Internet or your dear Aunt Martha said it doesn't make it an irrefutable fact.

Next time you come across a headline that says, "Eat Chocolate and Lose Weight!" pause, question, and research. Cross-check the information from multiple reliable sources before forming a conclusion. Your waistline, in this case, will thank you!

3. Curate Your Information Intake

Ever heard of the phrase, "You are what you eat?" Well, the same goes for information. If you're continuously consuming gossip, sensational news, or unverified "facts," you're essentially feeding your mind junk food.

The key is to become an active curator rather than a passive consumer of information. Choose books that expand your knowledge, follow credible news outlets, subscribe to informative podcasts, and surround yourself with people who inspire growth. It's like choosing a salad over a bag of chips - healthier and more satisfying!

4. Practice Mindfulness and Meditation

Mindfulness is like your mind's gym. It helps strengthen your mental muscles to resist the sway of external influences.

Try starting your day with a 10-minute meditation session. Focus on your breath, let thoughts come and go without judgment, and create a serene space within yourself. This practice helps you develop a stronger command over your thoughts, making you less prone to external manipulation.

5. Cultivate Critical Thinking

Critical thinking is your mental sword, enabling you to cut through the noise and uncover truth. Develop this skill by questioning assumptions, analyzing perspectives, and synthesizing information from various sources.

For instance, when politicians make claims during election season, dig deeper. Examine their track record, check the validity of their arguments, and question their motivations. It's like being a detective of your thoughts!

6. Construct Your Core Values

Your core values are your mental anchor. They keep you grounded in your beliefs and provide a framework for decision-making.

Sit down and write out what is most important to you. Is it honesty? Kindness? Learning? Whatever they are, once you have these core values, you can weigh the information you receive against them, allowing you to stay true to yourself amidst external influences.

The journey towards an unshakeable mind isn't a sprint but a marathon. It's an ongoing process of learning, unlearning, and relearning. But, as you begin to implement these strategies, you'll find that your boat isn't just steadying, it's sailing smoothly through the waves of information. Remember, in the battle of external influences, your mind is your greatest ally. Equip it, strengthen it, and let it lead the way!

Nature's Remedy to Restoring Eye Sight

(I was inspired to write this post after reading all the success stories of "Sight Care" so I researched the ingredients and wrote this post.)  Eyebright is a herb that has been used traditionally to treat eye problems. However, it may not be safe or effective for your eyes. Instead, you can try these eight natural substances that may protect and improve your eye health: alpha lipoic acid, quercetin, lycopene, glutathione, zeaxanthin, lutein, rutin, and eyebright. These substances are antioxidants, carotenoids, and flavonoids that can fight oxidative stress, inflammation, and age-related macular degeneration in your eyes. They can also enhance your visual acuity, contrast sensitivity, and night vision. In this blog post, we will show you two ways of getting these substances into your body: the cheapest way and the easiest way. We will also give you a price breakdown for each option. The Cheapest Way The cheapest way to get these substances into your body is to use...
